Building Community through Coffee
When buying a home, it's crucial to consider the neighborhood and its community spirit. Coffee shops, often referred to as "third places" (after home and work), play a vital role in building this sense of community. I met one of my oldest friends, Rolling Stone journalist, author, and actress, Alexis Sottile at Verb Cafe in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood.
Coffee shops serve as essential "third places," providing a welcoming space for people to gather, work, socialize, and build community. These hubs of interaction enhance the social fabric of neighborhoods, making them vibrant and engaging places to live. This is where your kid’s band will perform. Where you will hear afternoon jazz. Where you will talk to me about your dream house. :)
““I have measured out my life with coffee spoons.” ”
When choosing a home, remember it’s not just a house. Consider the community and local amenities. Coffee shops like these are essential community hubs where people gather and build relationships. Living near a great coffee shop can enhance your sense of belonging and improve your overall quality of life.
Here are some of the best coffee shops in Seattle and its surrounding areas where you can feel at home and connect with others.
